What We covered (Aidan) - 1/2/21

We watched through different informative videos describing the community of Carrigtwohill, how the different cultures and communities have merged or overlapped with one another to create this new kind of society.

We discussed through mind maps what we thought we could use as a question to any of the people coming to talk about their certain community and talked with one of our colleagues who is a resident about their own personal feelings on the town.

The Social dynamics to me come off as a new type of the old style, very community all together based where everyone would nearly know everything about their neighbour. They're industry seems to have improved over the last couple of years due to the obvious influx of different people from other countries. There seems to be a sort of acceptance by the older generation to this new one but I'm more or less left unsure by the videos, I would like to have discussions with people and get their honest opinions.

I would like to try focusing in on the theme of possibly Prejudice, how some communities might feel now about ho the generation of people who've lived there longer see them or think they see them to get a better understanding.

I want to be honest with the people, actually talk to them with a realistic approach and hope(if I/We word ourselves correctly) can get an honest answer from people to develop upon that.

Some questions Id ask myself would be 

- How has it been living in this community? 

-Has there ever been moments where you've felt like your culture has conflicted with the generation that have lived here longer?

-Have you faced any kind of Prejudice in the time that you've lived here?

-If there were any changes you'd want to see from the community to better understand you and your culture, what would they be?

-How, as someone who has lived in this town all their life, have you reacted to the influx of different nationalities of people?

-Has your community changed in any way as result of this?

-Do both of you have any similarities that have created a bond?

-What would you like to see for the future of your community?
