Social Media Posts for Generation Z

Image
Social Media Posts for Generation Z  The following are edits I made using the selfies the participants of Workshop One submitted. The text on each image has been inspired by either a quote the participant said during the podcast recording or a stereotype we spoke about on the podcast. Hopefully these can be used during the implementation phase on our social media accounts, after I get approval from my group members and from the participants themselves.

Zoom Workshop 1- Gen Z/Millenials

Zoom Workshop: Gen X/Millenials  On Friday the 19th of March, our group did our first workshop. The workshop was led by Jason and myself, with Cillian as a co-host to help us coordinate all of our participants into the Zoom meeting.  The workshop mainly went to plan, with only a time setback of a few minutes due to some technical difficulties with getting the Zoom call set up. Between Jason and I, we asked our participants all of the questions we had laid out in our workshop plan and had some interesting discussions regarding the differences between our participants and the generations ahead of them.  In particular, the question "what are some stereotypes people have about your generation?" gave our participants the opportunity to think about and share their opinions about the divide that exists between younger and older generations. The topic of mental health came up, in which our participants expressed that older generations don't have the same understanding of the iss...

Zoom Workshop 1

we had are first workshop today 19/03/21, we had 4 participants representing just the younger generation, where we discussed many common tropes about the stereo typing of their generation and their views on the older generation and other matters in regards Carrigtwohill, over all other than some technical difficulties I believe the meeting went well as Jason & Mairead too charge in hosting the meeting as Cillian took a co-host role in setting it up, we successfully had an interactive part at the end which will be used in some Instagram posts to drive conversation about are piece. so far this was a great start to one of the three meeting we will be completing. - Cillian

workshop plan(2)

17-23 generation z 45-60 generation x /baby boomers Things to know before the workshop for participants: we want to make you feel comfortable as possible so we have laid out the workshop plan here, so you won’t be surprised by any questions or activities we will be doing. If possible it would be helpful if the younger generation got an account on Canva prior to the workshop. We would also love it if everyone took a picture of their faces for a poster and we will make a poster for our Instagram. You don't have to do this but it would be really helpful.   2mins – introduction   2mins - Icebreakers ·   if Carrigtwohill was a person, how would you describe them?   25mins - Questions ·   What’s unique about your generation? ·   Carrigtwohill offers a lot of amenities, clubs and services. Do you feel there are enough services available for your generation? ·   What benefits do you think there could be from the younger and older generations connecting...

Picture of the faces of our participants we will make a poster where we have a quote they said in this podcast for promotion and awareness to issues that were raised in the podcast or stereotypes that were debunked. We will then take these and put them on our Instagram.

Feedback plus presentation to Claire and Helen

After our initial presentation, maria asked us to be more specific on the idea of what our output will be? our aim is to empathise with both of the generations. As we found there can be tensions between both groups not only in Carrigtwohill as it seems when talking as a group we feel similar things within our own community so find it easier to connect. It also helps that we have Cillian in our group who lives in Carrigtwohill so it is easier to get insights into Carrigtwohill.  We hope in the first workshop to gain knowledge about each generation. Possible biases/ assumptions from their age group or what they think others might assume of their generation which they think is false or inaccurate. Hopefully bonding over similarities and differences and through the workshop breaking down barriers and possible assumptions by listening to both sides of the story using perspectives. We think a podcast is a great way to do this as we can share peoples stories by listening to both sides as ...

Facebook Post     I created the image for my team members to post on each of our individual facebooks. I didn't expect too much engagement with my post as personally my audience on Facebook is not associated with the Carrigtwohill area, but I did get 3 public shares and 2 private shares from supportive friends. I also got 8 likes.

This was our objective this week, to make sure our project was shared out to be seen by others, particularly around the Carrigtwohill area. Mairead designed this poster to accompany our pitch to help the audience understand.
